Oak Street

This was a favourite project for everyone on the crew.  From design to finish, the clients were such a joy to work with, still drop in for a visit every once in a while.  They are avid naturalists and wanted a back yard that would bring that mountain feeling into their space.

What we built:

  • Flagstone patio.

  • Clay paver pathway throughout backyard, with islands of bluestone where the pavers and bluestone merged.

  • Brohm stone faced free standing concrete wall. Upon their request, one side (the patio side) is more formal and linear;  whereas, the taller side is abstract.

  • Brohm stone Pondless Water feature with Basalt steppers meandering through the two creeks.

  • A brick and himalayan cedar bench, built out of the bricks from their old chimney that came down.

A year after completing the backyard, we were invited back to work on the fron boulevard and the two sides.  After coming up with some simple plans, we installed:

  • More flagstone

  • 18"x 18" concrete slabs where a more utilitarian functiaonality was needed

  • Dry stack Brohm stone walls
