This Project in in North Vancouver - Basalt retaining walls with Flagstone patio. The Flagstone is Pennsylvania Bluestone - lilac colour, Its installed on pea gravel with a slab of concrete underneath, maximizing drainage while minimizing settling over time and there are no gaps between the stones which means we spent a long time cutting them in. The Basalt walls were also meticulously built, tight gaps and again no mortar. Building dry stack walls means you don't have to worry about drainage. We call a dry stack wall a 'living wall' because it breaths, it allows the earth behind the wall to breath. The top cap is mortared down for safety reasons
